Merry Harriers Plant team recommend planting both now for a beautiful spring display. They are acid loving plants so need ericaceous compost. Happy in sun or part shade.
Rhododendrons are medium or large evergreen shrubs. Azaleas are smaller and can be either evergreen or deciduous.
Azalea flowers are smaller, but come in a more vivid array of shades, and are sometimes gloriously fragrant.
Both are best planted in October or March/April.
